John R. Knight
Chief Executive Officer, JB&A, INC, Colonel (Retired), U.S. Army

Mr. John R. Knight is Chief Executive Officer (CEO), JB&A, INC., a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business established in 1988 to provide in-depth consultation and facilitation services concentrating on Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) system and National Foreign Intelligence Program (NFIP) support to Department of Defense and United States Intelligence Community activities. Mr. Knight leads the company's strategic planning process which concentrates on establishment and accomplishment of company goals and objectives related to revenue growth and increasing company value. He also coordinates centralized marketing activities oriented to prospective clients to ensure consistent focus on the company's goals and objectives. Mr. Knight is also the Trustee for the company's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Mr. Knight was elected to his present position by the company's Board of Directors effective July 2008 after having served as the company's President from January 2003 through June 2008, and as the company's Executive Vice President from October 2000 through December 2002. Prior to his election as Executive Vice President, Mr. Knight was a company Vice President and Program Manager.

Prior to joining JB&A, INC., as a Principal Program Analyst, in July 1995, Mr. Knight was a career US Army officer who completed 26 ½ years of active duty service in Military Intelligence assignments in the continental United States (CONUS), Europe, and Southeast Asia . Mr. Knight was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, Military Intelligence, in December 1967 as a graduate of The Ohio State University and Army ROTC. Following completion of the Infantry Officers' Basic Course and the Intelligence Research Officers'/Technicians' (Counterintelligence) Course, he assumed duties as Operations Officer, and later, Commander, Newark Field Office, Region II, 108 th Military Intelligence (MI) Group, Newark, NJ. In December 1968, Mr. Knight deployed to the Republic of South Vietnam where he was assigned to the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, Headquarters, XXIV Corps, as an order of battle officer and all-source analysis officer. Returning to CONUS, he assumed duties as the Assistant Operations Officer, and later, Operations Officer, Region V, 112 th MI Group, New Orleans, LA from January 1970 until he completed his initial obligated tour of active duty. Following 15 months in inactive status with the US Army Reserve, Mr. Knight accepted voluntary recall to active duty and, in May 1972, reported to the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Intelligence, Headquarters, US Army, Europe and Seventh Army, for successive assignments as Chief, Field Support Branch, Assistant Training Officer, and Intelligence Staff Officer (Defensive and Offensive Counterintelligence Operations). In March 1976, Mr. Knight activated and assumed command of the US Army Special Security Detachment, 5th Infantry Division (Mech). Upon inactivation of the detachment, he served consecutively as Assistant G-2 (Air), S-2, 1st Brigade, and Intelligence Operations Platoon Leader, 15 th MI Company/Assistant Operations Officer, Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2. In June 1980, Mr. Knight returned to Europe for assignment as Executive Officer and strategic/operational intelligence analyst, Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, Headquarters, Central Army Group (NATO). In June 1983, he reported to the US Army ROTC Instructor Battalion, The Ohio State University, for duties as Executive Officer and senior Assistant Professor of Military Science. In November 1986, Mr. Knight again returned to Europe where he was assigned as Chief, Operations, Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, Headquarters, VII (US) Corps and then, in May 1988, as Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, 3d Infantry Division (Mech). Following three years as the Marne Division's senior intelligence officer, Mr. Knight returned to CONUS for assignment to the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Headquarters, Department of the Army, in June 1991. During four years on the Army departmental staff, Mr. Knight served as an Intelligence Staff Officer, the Chief, Plans Division, and the Chief, Plans and Modernization Support Division/Director, Army Intelligence Master Plan. Mr. Knight was placed on the US Army retired rolls with the rank of Colonel effective September 1, 1995.

Mr. Knight earned a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration degree from The Ohio State University, and a Master of Science, Business Administration degree from Boston University. He also completed the US Army Infantry Officers' Basic Course (Commandant's List), the US Army Intelligence Research Officers'/Technicians' (Counterintelligence) Course, the US Army Military Intelligence Officers' Advanced Course (Commandant's List), the US Army Command & General Staff College, the DLIFLC Basic German Language Course (with Honors), the NATO Staff Officers' Orientation Course, and the Amphibious Warfare Course, UK Royal Defense College.

Mr. Knight is a member in good standing of the following professional and fraternal organizations:

Military Intelligence Corps Association (MICA), National Military Intelligence Association (NMIA), Association of the United States Army (AUSA), Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), Association of Old Crows (AOC), Armed Forces Communications-Electronics Association (AFCEA), The Ohio State University Alumni Association (Life Member), Boston University Alumni Association, and Knights of Columbus (3rd Degree).

Mr. Knight is married to the former Laura Wulf, RN, BSN. They are the parents of three adult daughters, Mrs. Julie McCollough, CPA, Placitas, NM, Mrs. Amy Drouet, CNMT, MBA, Pearland, TX, and Mrs. Jennifer Passino, MSPT, Harrisburg, NC.
